During the current school year, our school, EPAL Kato Achaias, participates in the Program "Ambassador Schools of the European Parliament", organized by the Office of the European Parliament in Greece, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and the support of Parliament of the Hellenes. In this context, EPAL KATO ACHAIAS is organizing on TUESDAY 27/2/2024 "Simulation of a Plenary Session of the European Parliament" in which 7 schools from the region of Western Greece will participate, PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL Themelio, EEEEK NAFPAKTO, VOUNARGOU SCHOOL, RIO SCHOOL, 5th SCHOOL OF PATRAS, 13th SCHOOL OF PATRAS and RIO Junior HIGH SCHOOL. Each of these committees proposes, supports, debates a bill to be passed and receives the corresponding questions and objections to its individual articles from the other committees. The goal is, through a fruitful and constructive dialogue, to produce, after voting, a bill that will provide a solution to the burning issue of the debate: "The Istanbul Convention is the first legally binding international text that sets criteria for the prevention of gender-based violence, women's rights and gender equality. Unfortunately, the phenomena of domestic violence have increased rapidly on a pan-European level. What actions do you propose in order to ensure that citizens, especially women, are informed about their rights?"
