The event will take place at the University of Ioannina on the dates 29/3 -30/3.
On the first day of the event, there will be some opening speeches and it will be open to all the students from the University of Ioannina. The reception will be given by the Erasmus Student Network of Ioannina. The President of ESN Ioannina, Savvas Bolios, will make a speech about the relation between ESN and Erasmus+ programme with active citizenship . Afterwards a representative of the European office Parliament of Greece , a representative of the Youth Center of Epirus and a representative of Europe Direct of Epirus, are going to deliver speeches about active citizenship and European elections. The opening will be at 17:00 in the auditorium of the central library of the University of Ioannina.
On the second day the training will be conducted at the auditorium of the libaray of the University as well. The start time is 9.00 lasting until 20.00. The training is open to students from the University of Ioannina, as well as volunteers from the ESN and volunteers of Europe Council. The number of participants will be 40-50, and the trainers will be 6. The aim of the training is to create a bridge amongst three components: youth, active citizenship & the Erasmus Generation.
The objectives will be :
● Understanding the meaning of Active Citizenship
● Finding the connection between volunteering, Erasmus+ Programmes & Active
citizenship
● Understanding why youth does or/and doesn’t exercise certain political rights
● Gaining an insight on the importance of advocating
● Reflecting on the obstacles of being an active citizen
● Brainstorming solutions for raising the statistics on youth participation
A certificate of attendance will be given to each participant after the event!!
