What we are going to talk about

Slovenia took over the presidency of the Council of the European Union on 1 July, moving to the center of European political events. However, the presidency comes at a critical time when many important issues need to be addressed, including the management of the Corona crisis. Under the motto "Together. Resilient. Europe." Slovenia has set four priorities for the Presidency: recovery and greater resilience of the EU, reflection on the future of Europe, strengthening of the rule of law and European values, and security and stability in the European neighborhood.

So what does it mean for Slovenia to hold the presidency? How will it implement its priorities? Who is involved in the presidency? What else is important to know?

On Tuesday, 6 July, at 5:00 CET, Nastja Klemencic Schmidt from the European Parliament's Liaison Office in Ljubljana, will introduce the priorities of the Slovenian Presidency and answer all your questions on the topic. The online event will be held in English on WebEx.
